Public Transport: TransLink operates buses, trains, and ferries throughout the city. Use a go card, contactless payment or a paper ticket (Sydney’s Opal card is not accepted). TransLink fares are currently a flat 50 cents per journey across zones and modes in South East Queensland, excluding Airtrain.
Ferries: The free CityHopper serves the inner-city river route between North Quay and Sydney Street; it does not cover most ferry routes. CityHopper serves the inner-city river route; Lone Pine is a separate destination about 20 minutes from the city by road.
Taxis & Ride-Sharing: Uber, local taxis, and ride-sharing services operate throughout the city. CBD rides cost a moderate fare. Taxis can be hailed on street or booked via phone.
Car Rental: International visitors can use home country license. Major rental companies at airport. Driving is left-hand side. Parking available but CBD can be congested during peak hours.
Cycling: Brisbane has extensive bike paths and flat terrain. Bike share programs available. Many attractions offer bike parking.
Brisbane Airport (BNE) to city center:
