Turku Castle

Turku Cathedral
Closed for renovation from 9 February 2026 to 2 December 2028 (reopening for Turku's 800th anniversary). Finland's national shrine and mother church, consecrated in 1300, still dominates the city from its hill beside the Old Great Square; you can admire the brick exterior and tower, but not the interior, until the works end. Its museum of medieval sculpture, church silver and vestments will also reopen after the renovation.
