Metro System: The most reliable and affordable option. The current metro network includes lines 1–14, 16 and 20, plus Line 6’s branch. Rent a metro card or use mobile payment apps. Fares are low and distance-based.

Buses: Extensive network covering entire city. Cheaper than metro but slower. Air-conditioned buses standard. Payment via metro card or mobile.

Taxis & Ride-sharing: Didi (Chinese Uber equivalent) widely used and affordable. Taxis plentiful but payment issues with foreigners. Have Chinese characters written down or use apps.

Bicycle Sharing: Convenient for short distances. Apps like Ofo and Mobike available throughout city. Inexpensive rental rates.

From Airport: Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport has metro connection (Line 11), buses, and taxi/ride-share options. Journey to downtown takes 30-50 minutes depending on traffic.

✈️ Airport Transfer

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) to city center:

• Line 11 reaches Futian in about 30 minutes; the airport lists ordinary-class fares of CNY 2–10.
• Airport Shuttle Bus: Routes to major districts like Luohu and Nanshan in 40 to 60 minutes, a low fare
• High-speed Rail: Airport North is a metro station, not a high-speed rail station. Take Line 11 from the airport and transfer to Line 5 at Qianhaiwan for Shenzhen North Station, a low fare
• Taxi: To downtown Shenzhen in 40 to 50 minutes, metered fare a metered fare (confirm the route and fare)
