Major Festivals:
- Santo António Festival (June 12-13): Lisbon's biggest celebration honoring the city's patron saint. Street parties in Alfama, grilled sardines, marchas populares parades, marriages at the cathedral. The night of June 12-13 is magical citywide celebration.
- Festas de Lisboa (throughout June): Month-long festivities with concerts, street parties, traditional food. Neighborhoods compete in decorating streets.
- Rock in Rio Lisboa (June, biannual): Massive music festival attracting international headliners to Parque da Bessa.
- NOS Alive (July): Major music festival at Passeio Marítimo de Algés featuring rock, indie, and electronic acts.
- Lisbon Book Fair (late May-June): Annual tradition in Eduardo VII Park with hundreds of book stalls.
