Getting Around in Liverpool

Getting Around: The centre is compact and walkable: the waterfront, Albert Dock, Bold Street and the two cathedrals are all within about 25 minutes' walk. Merseyrail trains (partly underground in the centre) run to the suburbs, and buses cover the rest of the city.

Parking: Large multi-storey car parks include Liverpool ONE and St John's; on-street parking in the centre is paid.

✈️ Airport Transfer

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL), about 7 miles south-east of the centre:

• Arriva bus 500: the fastest bus between the airport and the city centre, £2 adult single (2026).
• Bus + train: a short bus ride to Liverpool South Parkway, then a Merseyrail or mainline train into the centre.
• Taxi: from the rank outside the terminal, roughly 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
