A short ferry ride south, Formentera is a smaller, quieter island famous for the turquoise waters of Ses Illetes beach, often compared to the Caribbean. Renting a bike or scooter for the day is the easiest way to see multiple beaches.
On the west coast, San Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany) is known for its harborfront Sunset Strip of bars where crowds gather nightly to watch the sun drop into the sea, often with a live DJ soundtrack. Café del Mar helped popularize the ritual in the 1980s.
