Getting Around Halkidiki
A rental car is essential for exploring beyond a single resort — Halkidiki's three peninsulas are large and public buses (KTEL) run infrequently between the main towns, rarely reaching individual beaches. Thessaloniki International Airport, about an hour from central Kassandra, is the usual arrival point, and rental desks there are the easiest way to pick up a car on arrival. The scheduled car ferry runs between Tripiti and Ammouliani; check its current timetable before travelling.

- Rental car: Self-drive via the A25 and A24 roads to Halkidiki in 45 minutes to 2 hours, rental rates from about 35 euros per day plus fuel
